Emergences

Emergences evokes the process of clay taking shape in the craftsman’s hands.

Regard sur W.A. Dedicated to Woody Allen

Dedicated to Woody Allen, is a wink at the nostalgic yet exuberantly whimsical figure of this introvert.

The following five pieces are musical transcriptions of emotions evoked by the paintings of the female figure by great artists.

Modigliani

The composition is scored for the right hand to interpret Modigliani’s stretched bodies while the left hand plays a partition transcribing the permanence of his figures’ faces.

Matisse

The piece suggests the sensually evocative lines in Matisse’s works.

Picasso for the left hand
This composition for the left hand induces musically the tension evoked by the angular figures of Picasso’s cubist period

Mary Cassatt
An attempt to decipher attitudes:  What is the woman thinking; what has brought to her lips the letter she has just written?

Paul Delvaux Dedicated to the painter

Backgrounds of train stations, of railway tracks or even of ancient temples serve to portray a discreet eroticism in Delvaux’s nudes that depict more the purity of eternal love than the rawness of nudity.

Valse intime (intimate waltz)

After an original drawing by Paul Delvaux showing two women dancing.

Clair-obscur (chiaroscuro)
Theme with nine variations.  Suite of atmospheres, rhythms and colours that evokes the shades, hues, shadows and lighting of a painting.
